The DMASUN Indoor Cycling Bike is an excellent bike for home use that won’t break the bank! It is sturdily constructed with a heavy-duty steel frame and supports a maximum user weight capacity of up to 330 lbs. The bike has a footprint of around 43.5″ long and weighs approximately 97 lbs.
The DMASUN bike’s drive system combines a heavy-weight 40 lb flywheel with a belt drive for a smooth, quiet ride. In addition, it allows for continuous infinite resistance adjustment, which is adjustable via a simple-to-use twist knob. As a result, you’re in total control of the intensity of your workout.
The DMASUN Indoor Cycling Bike has an LCD fitness monitor (battery operated) that tracks and displays your workout data such as time, speed, distance, calories burned, and pulse to keep you motivated as you cycle. In addition, you must hold the integrated pulse-grip sensors built into the bike’s handlebars for your pulse heart rate.
The DMASUN’s large cushioned saddle is surprisingly comfortable and is 4-way adjustable (up, down, forwards, backward) for a custom fit for different riders (seat height: min 30″ – max 40″). The multi-grip handlebars effectively allow you to simulate different riding postures such as upright, racing, etc. In addition, the handlebars are height adjustable to suit other riders.

DMASUN Frame construction
The DMASUN exercise bike features a triangular steel tubing frame. Most of the structure is ovalized tubes for improved sturdiness and aesthetics, except for the round base bars. The cycle also includes several parts of heavy-duty ABS plastic. However, these only have a protective role; they don’t reduce the bike’s sturdiness. The most notable ones are the belt cover, the brake cover, and the tablet holder.
The bike’s frame integrates a step-up element; not all spin bikes have this feature. It consists of a small bar that unites the seat tube with the frame’s main oblique tube. This bar is for stretches or various spin workouts, requiring you to mount and dismount repeatedly.
The bike’s frame comes fully coated with a durable paint finish, resistant to chipping and corrosion. In addition, this also includes the handlebar and seat posts. The flywheel is chrome-plated with ABS side panels.
The fully assembled bike is relatively heavy. It weighs over 90 lbs (41 kg), more than twice the road bikes’ weight. However, the cycle provides excellent stability; it shouldn’t rock or move during spin workouts. Also, both its base bars have rotating polygonal caps that can rotate, so you can level the bike on an uneven floor if it’s the case.
The DMASUN cycle is not an extremely large fitness machine like most other spin bikes. However, with the frame fully set up, it is approx 43.5″ (110 cm) long and 20″ (51 cm) wide. Thus, it should fit pretty well, even into a small room or apartment. However, allowing at least two feet of clearance is advisable all around it for easy access is advisable.
Seat and handlebars
The DMASUN indoor cycling bike comes equipped with a four-way adjustable seat. Its vertical post has several positions and offers an adjustment span of 10″ (25.4 cm), from 30″ (76.2 cm) above floor level to 40″ (101.6 cm).
Also, the seat’s horizontal slider allows a few extra inches of front-to-back adjustment. Therefore, the bike can accommodate users between 5’0″ and 6’4″ (153 – 193 cm) with no problem.
The included saddle excels in ergonomics. To begin with, it integrates considerably more cushioning than the average race seat. Its top cover is durable, double-stitched faux leather. It also has a central groove for improved breathability.
One last aspect of the seat I must mention is its connection system to the slider. It’s a standard, collar-based attachment system, which means the saddle can slightly tilt forward and backward. Also, compatible options are widely available if you ever have to replace them.
The bike’s handlebar features a multi-grip design, with drop-down grips, race grips, and a loop-type aero bar in the middle. In addition, a layer of urethane material fully covers it for an improved grip.
The top grips integrate EKG sensors, and the fitness monitor can monitor your pulse. The bike also has a tablet holder attached to the center of the handlebar assembly.
Unlike the seat, the handlebar only offers vertical adjustment. It doesn’t have a horizontal slider for front-to-back adjustment. Also, its angle is non-adjustable. But on the other hand, its vertical post offers approx. 10″ (25.4 cm) of change, between 38″ and 48″ (96.5 – 122 cm) above floor level.
DMASUN Drive and resistance
The DMASUN indoor cycling trainer features manual action and a standard friction resistance system. Therefore, you don’t have to connect it to a power source. But unfortunately, it also means that the bike cannot adjust the resistance automatically.
The resistance system consists of a felt brake pad connected to the tension knob. As you turn the knob clockwise, the pad applies more friction to the edge of the flywheel, increasing the drag and pedaling difficulty. There aren’t any tension levels or markings on the resistance knob. Instead, you tighten it until you get the desired resistance.
The bike’s tension knob also works as an emergency brake; you can press it down to immediately stop the flywheel from spinning if necessary.
The DMASUN indoor cycle comes with a 40 lb (18 kg) flywheel. The flywheel is perimeter-weighted to provide superior inertia. It is also bi-directional; it allows pedaling in reverse, and when pedaling in reverse, you will benefit from the same resistance as when pedaling forward.
Since it’s a bike for spin workouts, it features a heavy-duty crankset. The crank arms have a similar length and structure as the average road bike. The pedals are metallic and have adjustable toe cages for extra thrust during pedaling and superior foot stability. Unfortunately, they don’t have clips for spin shoes, but they are replaceable as their threads are standard 9/16″.
Lastly, the bike comes equipped with a belt drive system. This type of transmission comes with several advantages. First, it doesn’t require lubrication. Second, it promotes a smooth and quiet pedaling motion. And third, it generates less vibration than a chain drive.
The DMASUN indoor cycling trainer comes equipped with a fitness monitor that offers a few extra features over a basic model: the odometer and pulse reading functions. The other readings are time, distance, speed, and calories burned.
It’s important to note that the monitor is not telemetric. Unfortunately, it cannot read your pulse from an HR chest strap. Instead, it would be best to hold on to the sensors integrated into the handlebar to monitor your pulse.
The bike’s fitness monitor only has one button, which allows you to scroll through the workout metrics and select the one you want to view. And the Scan Mode rotates all the metrics showing each one for a few seconds.
The monitor requires two AAA batteries. It also has a sleep mode that will enter after a few minutes of inactivity on the bike. Then, it starts once more when you pedal or press the button.
DMASUN Assembly and Maintenance
The bike’s frame comes pre-assembled; the flywheel, the brake pad, the tension knob, the transmission belt, and the crankset are pre-assembled. You only have to connect the two base bars, the pedals, the seat post and seat, the handlebar post, the handlebar, and the fitness monitor.
Consequently, it shouldn’t take more than one hour of your time. The task is pretty straightforward, and the included manual provides clear instructions. Also, a set of necessary tools comes with the bike.
The bike features a belt drive system, so it doesn’t require lubrication. However, the brake pad may need a bit of (silicone) lubricant from time to time, especially if it squeaks when in contact with the flywheel. Other than this, you only have to keep the unit clean and periodically check for loose parts.
