V-200T Frame construction

The GoElliptical V-200T cross trainer features a steel tubing frame. It combines cylindrical and rectangular tubes in its construction, all coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish. The color used is dark gray. The drive and resistance elements cover durable ABS material, featuring a more stylish design than the older model.

GoElliptical V-200T Cross-Trainer

The fully assembled elliptical is relatively heavy. Its net weight is 119 lbs (54 kg). However, all this weight is quite a plus for its overall stability. Plus, its base bars integrate adjustable levelers.

Although the packaged unit requires two persons for transport, it can be moved by only one person once fully assembled. Its front base stabilizer comes equipped with a set of wheels that facilitate its relocation. It’s important to note that this elliptical trainer does not fold, so you cannot save space with its storage.

The V-200T elliptical is relatively large. With all the parts assembled, it is approx 54″ (137 cm) long and 26″ (66 cm) wide. It is also advisable to leave at least two feet of clearance all around it for easy access and safe usage.

The unit comes with two sets of handlebars, one fixed, one mobile. The moving arms attach to the pedal bars and the front upright bar of the machine. They move for as long as you pedal.

The fixed handlebars attach to the top part of the front vertical bar. They are non-adjustable. They integrate resistance controls and pulse sensors. Both sets of handlebars have their grips covered by a layer of rubber foam material for improved comfort.

Elliptical path, stride, and step-up height

Like most other elliptical trainers with a rear-drive system, the GoElliptical V-200T features an elliptical path slightly inclined forward. This means that the pedaling motion resembles a descent on a soft ramp. However, it’s important to note; the machine does not have an incline system. So, the position of the elliptical path is not adjustable.

The pedals are heavy-duty thermoplastic material. They’re attached to two durable steel bars, and they support users up to 300 lbs (136 kg) with no problem. In addition, they have a textured surface and inner/front guards for improved foot stability. They’re also large enough to accommodate athletic shoes of all sizes.

The machine offers a mid-range stride of 17″ (43 cm). Thus, the elliptical should accommodate users between 5’0″ and 6’0″ (153 – 183 cm). Taller users can still benefit from a consistent workout, but they won’t benefit from a full range of motion.

A shorter stride is great for thighs and calves as a general idea, while a longer stride puts more focus on the hamstrings and glutes. In addition, the machine’s stride is non-adjustable.

This GoElliptical cross trainer has a step-up pedal height of approx—6″ (15 cm). However, the pedals stand at approx. 16″ (40 cm) above floor level at their highest point. Therefore, it is advisable to use the machine in a room with a ceiling at least 20″ (51 cm) taller than your height.

V-200T Drive and resistance

The GoElliptical V-200T cross trainer comes equipped with a 15.4 lbs (7 kg) internal flywheel. It has a balanced structure for improved motion stability. It is also bi-directional. Thus, you can pedal in reverse in case you want to diversify your workout.

However, it is essential to mention that you cannot coast on the machine, and when pedaling in reverse, the resistance remains constant, provided by the selected tension level.

The unit’s drivetrain uses a J6 poly-v belt. Since it’s a belt-drive, not a chain drive, you don’t have to worry about its lubrication. Also, the belt generates less vibration than a chain and contributes to the ride’s overall smoothness.

The V-200T elliptical trainer comes equipped with a motorized magnetic resistance system. This means you have to connect it to a power source to adjust the resistance. A power adapter (110 V) comes included with the machine. It also means that the console can adjust the resistance automatically.

The resistance system uses a magnetic brake and a servo motor connected to the console. As you adjust the console’s resistance, or as the console automatically adjusts the resistance, the motor changes the magnets’ pull increasing or decreasing the pedaling difficulty.

GoElliptical V-200T Cross-Trainer

There are 24 levels of resistance available on this machine. The first few levels deliver a light pedaling tension, great for users who need recovery training. Conversely, the top tension levels allow you to focus on your leg muscles and quickly achieve a high cardiovascular rate.

Console

The GoElliptical V-200T cross trainer comes equipped with the same type of console as the V-450T. In addition, it features a tri-color LCD divided into several sub-sections to show multiple workout metrics at once.

It tracks time, distance, speed, RPM, calories, and pulse. Speed and distance display in either metric units (kmh, kilometers) or English units (mph, miles). Also, for the pulse reading function, the console is not telemetric. This means it can only read your pulse if you hold on to the integrated sensors.

The console makes several workout programs available, including a Manual mode, 12 pre-set, a fitness test, an HRC program, and a Recovery Test. The Manual mode allows you to adjust the resistance as you like from the rotary knob.

The 12 pre-set programs have different segment layouts and cover various types of workouts. The custom program works similarly to the pre-set programs, but you can set up each segment’s desired resistance.

The HRC program adjusts the resistance depending on the selected BPM interval. Of course, you have to hold on to the integrated pulse sensors for this program to work. And finally, the Recovery Test counts your pulse at the end of the workout and rates your fitness shape from F1 (excellent) to F6 (poor).

The console also offers four user profiles. Therefore, up to four users can save their workout settings and personal data such as age, gender, weight, and height for a better calorie reading.

Amenities

Three other notable console features are the sound system, the device holder, and the USB port. The sound system consists of two small speakers placed on the bottom corners of the unit. In addition, you can connect your tablet or smartphone via the AUX port on the back of the console to listen to your music through the integrated speakers.

The USB port on the right side of the console offers the possibility to charge your device. And finally, the device holder consists of a small shelf above the rotary control, which can host your tablet or smartphone. Unfortunately, the console does not have online connectivity and is not compatible with any fitness apps.

V-200T Assembly and Maintenance

The bottom frame section with the drive and resistance elements comes pre-assembled. However, the other parts require user assembly. You will have to attach the machine’s front mast, the moving arms, the fixed handlebars, the pedal bars, the pedal trays, the two base bars, and the console.

This may take more than an hour of your time, but the process is not too complicated. The manual provides clear assembly instructions, and all the necessary tools come with the machine.

Once fully assembled, maintenance does not require much. The internal parts are pre-lubricated from the factory, and the drivetrain does not require lubrication. However, the machine’s joints may need lubrication if they begin to squeak. Other than this, you have to keep your elliptical clean.

  1. Hi Robert!

Yesterday, I told my friend that he could buy equipment to work out at home rather than traveling to the gym. The GoElliptical V-200T Cross-Trainer would be an excellent example of this, and it would help him a lot with his workouts. I will be sharing this article with him, and it might encourage him to consider working out at home.

Thank you so much for sharing this article with us, and I wish you all the best!

  2. Hi there,
Fantastic review. Thank you for sharing!
I have an elliptical at home, but it suddenly stopped working. I don’t know why; it must be because I have it for over 15 years now:). However, I am looking for a new one, and the GoElliptical seems to be an excellent machine. I like that it includes a sound system and USB port. I will look on Amazon and see how long it will take for the GoElliptical to be shipped.
Just a question, please. Is there a way you can maintain this machine? Do I need to lubricate it? If so, how should I do? Every how many times should I clean it?
Sorry for all these questions; I want this machine to last longer than the previous one.
    Thank you again!

    • Hi Daniella, thanks for stopping by. The GoElliptical V-200T Elliptical doesn’t require any internal care. The external joints might begin to squeak and may require lubrication once in a while. Other than this, you should wipe off any sweat from your workout and keep the machine clean as needed.

With proper care, the elliptical should last for some time. The warranty is for Frame lifetime / Parts 3 years / Labor 1 year.

I hope this answers your question, and if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. I’m always happy to help.

      Kind regards, Robert
