The Leikefitness Indoor Cycling Bike 80400 features a triangular frame construction of thick oval steel tubing for superior sturdiness. In addition, the mainframe comes double-coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish, and the bike has a maximum user weight limit of up to 330 lbs.
This Leikefitness bike features a 13 lb (5.8 kg) aluminum alloy flywheel so that you can enjoy lively spinning training at home and get rid of those unwanted pounds. In addition, the stationary bike has a manual magnetic resistance design. Therefore, you can increase or decrease the resistance to choose a different training level with a simple twist of the resistance knob.
The Leikefitness Indoor Cycling Bike has a fitness monitor featuring an LCD that tracks time, distance, speed, calories burned, and pulse. Unfortunately, the speed and distance are only metric units (km/h and kilometers). For pulse, you hold on to the sensors integrated into the side grips of the handlebar. Unfortunately, the monitor is not telemetrically enabled and will not work with an HR chest strap.

80400 Frame construction
The Leikefitness 80400 indoor cycling bike features a triangular frame construction with the front fork bars slightly curved for improved aesthetics. Furthermore, the bike’s frame is oval, thick steel tubing for superior sturdiness.
This Leikefitness bike comes available in two colors. Model #80400 is black, and model #80499 is white. The mainframe comes double-coated with a corrosion-resistant black or white paint finish. The seat and handlebar posts on the black (80400) model are black, while chrome-plated on the white (80499) model.
Of course, the bike also integrates several ABS parts. The most notable ones are the side protective panels of the flywheel and the belt guard.
An important feature is a short bar that connects the seat tube with the main oblique tube. It can be a stepping element for easier entry and exit or specific spin workouts requiring repeated mounting and dismounting. Furthermore, not all spin bikes have this short bar element, so it’s a plus.
The fully assembled bike is not extremely large; it is only 45.2″ (115 cm) long and 19.6″ (50 cm) wide. Thus, it can fit pretty well, even into a small room. However, just as for any other exercise bike, it still is advisable to allow at least two feet of clearance all around it.
Since it’s a bike made for home use, it is lighter than commercial-grade models. However, it still weighs approx. 68 lbs (~31 kg) is more than twice the average road bike’s weight. Therefore, this Leikefitness trainer delivers excellent stability. Plus, both its base bars come equipped with adjustable and rubberized stabilizers.
Although the bike isn’t too heavy, its front base does have a set of transport wheels. So, once assembled, it is easy to relocate.
Seat and handlebars
The Leikefitness 80499 comes equipped with a seat designed for extra comfort. First of all, it is more comprehensive than most race-type seats. In addition, its top integrates a relatively decent cushioning layer, especially in its rear section. Its cover is a durable vinyl material. Furthermore, it also has a central groove for improved breathability.
The bike’s seat offers four-way adjustability (up, down, front, back). In addition, its vertical post has several adjustment positions, while its horizontal slider allows a few more inches of front-to-back adjustment. Thus, the bike can accommodate users between 4’0″ and 6’3″ (122 – 190 cm) allowing for a complete leg extension.
It is also solid enough to support users up to 330 lbs (149.7 kg), a decent weight capacity for an exercise bike for home use.
The saddle has a standard (collar-based) attachment system to its post. Therefore, not only can you adjust it up, down, forward, and backward, but you can also untighten its screw and slightly change its angle. In addition, the bike is compatible with a wide array of other saddles available in bike shops due to this standard attachment system.
The bike’s handlebar only offers up/down adjustability as opposed to the seat. It doesn’t have a horizontal slider. Instead, it has a multi-grip design with a loop-type aero grip in the middle to attach the exercise meter. A layer of PU material covers it for a more comfortable and secure grip.
It’s also important to mention that the side grips of the handlebar come equipped with pulse sensors. Not all spin bikes offer this feature. Also, the included fitness monitor can monitor your pulse.
80400 Drive and resistance
The Leikefitness 80400 indoor cycling bike comes equipped with an aluminum alloy flywheel. It only weighs 13 lbs (5.8 kg), but it shouldn’t matter much because the bike has a magnetic resistance system. In addition, the flywheel has a perimeter-weighted structure, which adds momentum to the ride, and a great feature spin.
The bike’s flywheel allows pedaling in reverse. However, coasting on the bike is impossible, as is the case for road bikes. When pedaling in reverse, you will benefit from the same resistance as when pedaling forward. Thus, you can alternate typical reverse pedaling sessions to focus on different muscle groups.
The bike’s magnetic resistance system is manual. Therefore, you don’t have to connect the cycle to a power source and don’t need an adapter. However, the bike does not automatically adjust the resistance, and the included fitness monitor doesn’t have preset programs.
The resistance system consists of a magnetic brake connected to the tension knob on the frame’s top tube. If you turn the knob clockwise, the magnetic brake moves closer to the flywheel, which increases the pedaling difficulty.
The bike doesn’t have pre-determined resistance settings. Instead, you tighten the brake until you get the desired resistance.
The Leikefitness 80400 exercise bike comes equipped with a belt drive system. This type of transmission comes with a few advantages over a chain drive. The belt does not require periodic lubrication. Also, it delivers a smooth ride with less vibration than a chain, and the pedaling motion is almost entirely silent.
Lastly, the bike’s crankset features two solid arms, and the pedals can support any spin workout. The included pedals are non-slip and come with toe cages and straps. Unfortunately, they don’t have clips for spin shoes, but their threads are standard (9/16″), so you can replace them anytime.
The bike includes a simple fitness monitor. Unfortunately, it has no preset programs, online connectivity, or goal settings. Instead, it features an LCD that only tracks time, distance, speed, calories burned, and pulse.
The speed and distance are metric units (km/h and kilometers); you can’t set it to miles and MPH. The monitor can also read pulse, but only if you hold the sensors integrated into the handlebar’s side grips. It is not telemetric and cannot communicate with any wireless HR transmitter.
The fitness monitor is straightforward to use. It only has one button. It allows you to select the Scan Mode, which rotates all the values showing each one for a few seconds.
You can press it repeatedly to scroll through the workout metrics and select the one you want to lock on the LCD. The button also covers the monitor’s reset function. By pressing and holding it for a few seconds, you can clear all its values to zero.
The monitor is battery-powered, and it requires two AA batteries. It starts up when you begin pedaling or when you press the button. It also has a sleep mode, which initiates four minutes after the last flywheel movement input.
80400 Assembly and Maintenance
Similar to other spin bikes, the Leikefitness bike comes partially pre-assembled. The flywheel, the belt, the crankset, and the magnetic brake are already attached to the frame. So you only have to connect the two base bars, the seat, the handlebars, the pedals, and the fitness monitor.
The included manual provides clear assembly instructions, so this shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes of your time. Also, all the necessary tools come with the bike.
For maintenance, you only have to keep the unit clean, periodically check for loose bolts or parts, and retighten as needed. The belt doesn’t require lubrication, and since the brake doesn’t touch the flywheel, there is no friction or brake pad wear and tear.
