Frame const
The Lanos 2-in-1 exercise bike features a steel tubing X-type frame. The more significant frame consists of two parallel bars, while the shorter part of the structure that holds the seat and the resistance system is rectangular. The base bars and the handlebars are cylindrical.
All the steel parts feature a choice of rust-resistant white, blue, or black paint finishes, while the covers of the drive system are made of durable thermoplastic material.
The upright stopper bar that offers support for the seat has two positions. Therefore, you can use this exercise bike as a semi-recumbent or upright. In addition, the third position is folded, which offers better storage possibilities.
In the semi-recumbent position, the bike is 32″L x 20″W x 41″H (81L x 51W x 104H cm). Conversely, with the frame in the upright position, it is approximately 29″L x 20″W x 46″H (73 x 51 x 117 cm).
Thus, it is not a very large fitness machine and fits perfectly even in a small room. However, leaving at least two feet of clearance all around it is advisable for safe usage and accessibility.
The bike is not too heavy, weighing 47 lbs (21.3 kg). Therefore, one person can carry and assemble the bike. Once completed, it moves quickly as its front base stabilizer integrates a set of small wheels.
Although it’s an exercise bike for home use, the Lanos 2-in-1 offers impressive weight capacity. It has a maximum user weight capacity of 330 lbs (150 kg).
Seat and handlebars
The Lanos folding exercise bike has a seat with a backrest for optimal comfort. Both the seat and the backrest integrate a layer of foam padding. They also come contoured for added comfort. The seat is approximately 12″ (~31 cm) wide and 9 (23 cm) deep, while the backrest is 11 1/2″ (29 cm) wide and 6″ (15 cm) top to bottom.
The whole seat assembly is adjustable. Its vertical post has ten adjustment notches. Therefore, the bike accommodates users between 4’5″ and 6’4″ (135 – 193 cm). However, it does not have a horizontal slider or front-to-back adjustment.
Unfortunately, the backrest does not have a reclining feature, nor can it adjust up or down. In addition, it does not adjust independently from the seat. However, the backrest can fold over the seat pad, saving extra space when the bike is folded.
The Lanos 2-in-1 bike features two sets of handlebars. One is attached to the seat assembly, and the other to the front section of the cycle. Unfortunately, neither of these handlebars is adjustable.
The front ones offer three main grips and integrate HR pulse sensors. The seat handlebars offer only one grip and do not have pulse sensors. Both handlebars set feature rubber foam sleeves for an improved grip.
Resistance and drive
The Lanos folding exercise bike comes equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. Therefore, you don’t need an adapter or an external power source. On the other hand, the bike cannot adjust the resistance automatically.
The resistance system has a magnetic brake attached near the internal flywheel and connected to the enormous tension dial at the bike’s front. When you turn this dial, the inner brake changes its position to the flywheel, which increases or decreases the intensity of the internal magnetic field. Thus, it leads to more or less pedaling resistance.
The bike offers ten resistance levels, while many similar models only provide 8, which is a plus. The first resistance level is relatively light, great for a fitness warm-up, recovery training, or for users with a low fitness level. Conversely, the 10th tension level delivers more resistance simulating a steep climb.
The weight of the internal flywheel is not specified. However, since the bike weighs only 47 lbs (21.3 kg), the flywheel probably doesn’t weigh more than 20 lbs (9.0 kg). It has a balanced structure and provides a pretty consistent momentum.
It is also bi-directional, so you can alternate reverse pedaling sessions with forwarding pedaling sessions. However, it is essential to note that coasting on this bike is impossible.
The bike comes equipped with a pretty solid crankset featuring steel arms. The pedals are made of heavy-duty thermoplastic material with a textured surface and adjustable straps so that you can secure your feet.
Also, the Q-Factor (spacing between the pedals) is approx—5″ (127 mm), which is pretty narrow. Thus, you won’t get any unnecessary lateral stress on the knees and ankles during pedaling.
The internal drivetrain uses a poly-v belt. Naturally, a belt drive system comes with a few advantages. For example, as for a bike chain drive, you don’t need to lubricate it periodically. It also contributes to the smoothness and quietness of the ride.
Fitness monitor
Although the fitness monitor included with the Lanos folding exercise bike has no workout programs or online connectivity, it offers a few extra features over a simple model. Its display divides into multiple sub-sections and shows up to 6 workout metrics. In addition, it indicates time, distance, speed, calories, and pulse.
The speed and distance are in Imperial units (miles and MPH). The pulse reading function is hand-grip contact only. In particular, the monitor only reads your pulse if you hold on to the sensors integrated into the front handlebars. Furthermore, it is not telemetric and cannot read your pulse from a wireless HR chest strap or armband.
The fitness monitor is easy to use. It only has one button. By pressing the button, you can change the workout metrics shown on the top, a more extensive display section, and select the one you want to view. You can also set the Scan Mode, which rotates all metrics showing each one for a few seconds.
The battery-powered monitor requires two AAA batteries, which come included with the bike. In addition, it starts monitoring your metrics when you pedal and turns off automatically after a few minutes of inactivity on the bike.
The fitness monitor also integrates a device holder. This accessory consists of a small shelf at the bottom of the monitor. It can support a tablet or phone, which you might want to have at hand when exercising.
However, it is essential to note that the monitor has no connection ports for your device, and you cannot sync it with a smartphone or tablet.
Please note that the smartphone and tablet pictured do not come with the bike.
Assembly and Maintenance
The bike’s mainframe comes pre-assembled with all the drive and resistance elements. However, there still are several parts that require user assembly. I count the two base stabilizers, the seat, the backrest, the handlebars, the pedals, and the fitness monitor.
The assembly task is far from being complicated and shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes. The manual provides clear assembly instructions, and all the necessary tools come included with the bike.
For maintenance, you only have to clean the bike, wipe the sweat droplets that may fall on the frame at the end of the workout, and periodically inspect the bike to ensure all parts hold tight in their places and function properly. The internal mechanism does not require lubrication.

Exercise equipment at home is a great way to keep fit. Those living in small apartments will find that their Lanos 2-1 exercise bike is perfect as you can easily fold to half its size and then wheel it away for storage.
With ten levels of magnetic resistance, a fitness monitor to track pulse, speed, time, and distance, easy assembly, and low maintenance, this Lanos folding exercise bike would be a great addition to a home gym. I have checked availability, and unfortunately, it is not currently available on Amazon, so I will look elsewhere unless you have a similar bike you can recommend.

This folding stationary bike packs in a lot of features for its size. I have been looking at different bikes. Some take up too much space. Some don’t have any tracking features. I like the idea that there are ten resistance levels. I am just getting back into this, but I think ten levels should allow me to start and progress. I also like the monitor. This machine is not too heavy for me to move when needed. Also, it folds. This seems to be what I am looking for. I am going to continue to look around, but bookmark this page.
