This Sunny ASUNA Minotaur 7150 Indoor Cycling Bike can satisfy all workout needs from beginners to intermediate and elite cyclists. The magnetic resistance level and the belt drive mechanism provide a silent and maintenance-free work out — the tension knob functions for resistance adjustment and emergency brake.
The 33-pound aluminum and high alloy steel flywheel provides a high inertia exercise for users up to 330 pounds. The Sunny ASUNA 7150 cycle features a front-drive design, which means the drive mechanism is directly under the sweat zone. However, you don’t need to worry about sweat getting into the drive system because a durable guard covers all around the wheel.
The handlebars offer multi-cycling grips and two water bottle holders to keep you hydrated. There is also another water bottle holder on the side of the frame. The racing seat is very comfortable. Parallel seat rails run along the underside, leaving the middle hallow for extra comfort and adaptability. Pedals are dual-sided with spd cleats and toe cages.
The materials of the seat and handlebars’ posts are high-grade aluminum, which reduces the weight of these parts for more effortless adjustment. All the positions are numbered/marked. So, let’s say someone else uses the Sunny ASUNA Minotaur 7150 indoor cycling bike and changes the seat adjustment: it’s going to be easy for you to adjust the seatback the way it was.

7150 Frame construction
The Sunny ASUNA Minotaur 7150 features a massive structure with a one-piece, all-steel frame with precision machined welding points. The bike’s bases are the only frame parts that attach to the mainframe via bolts.
The bike can withstand users up to 330 lbs (150 kg). Therefore, considering its bulky frame and the seat’s thick bar, it should support even heavier users. However, 330 lbs are its specified maximum user weight capacity.
Most of the bike’s frame is powder coated with industrial-grade corrosion-resistant and scratch-resistant paint. Unfortunately, the only color available for this bike is black (at least for the moment). The ASUNA logo is blue, while the Minotaur’s name is white. The seat, handlebar posts, and sliders feature a chrome finish that is also corrosion-resistant.
The ASUNA Minotaur 7150 has a larger footprint than other indoor cycling bikes. The fully assembled frame is 57″ (145 cm) long and 27.2 (69 cm) wide. This larger footprint and its 132.8 lbs (~60 kg) weight play an essential role in its overall stability.
Plus, both base tubes feature adjustable stabilizers with rubber caps. Therefore, you can be sure it won’t rock or wobble even if you engage in some of the most challenging spin workouts.
Seat and handlebars
The seat supplied with the ASUNA Minotaur 7150 is a spin bike seat featuring a large longitudinal groove to promote healthy blood circulation during seated workouts. However, like most spin bike seats, it’s not designed for comfort. Although well cushioned, it still is a slim seat, and a user new to spinning may seem uncomfortable.
But it has a standard design, and compatible replacements are widely available. Besides, you can improve its comfort with a gel cover.
The seat can be adjusted up, down, back, and forth. Its adjustment span is 10″ (25.4 cm), from 28.5″ (72.4 cm) to 38.5″ (98 cm). Differently put, the bike can accommodate users between 5’0″ and 6’7″ (153 – 201 cm).
The handlebar features a multi-grip design with integrated aero bars and bottle holders. Just like the seat, it is 4-way adjustable, offering an adjustment span of several inches vertically and horizontally. In addition, the handlebar is padded with high-density foam to provide a comfortable grip.
The seat and handlebar feature large, adjustable levers that are easy to grip and turn. Thus, setting up the bike for your size shouldn’t take more than one minute.
7150 Resistance
Like most commercial spin bikes, the ASUNA Minotaur 7150 uses a manual friction resistance system. It consists of a leather pad attached to the tension dial atop the central tube of the frame. The brake pad has a plastic cover, shielding the flywheel’s top part.
To add resistance, you have to turn the dial clockwise; this enables the brake pad to apply more friction onto the flywheel, resulting in higher pedal resistance.
No resistance settings or “clicks” are on the resistance knob. Instead, you have to tighten it until you obtain the desired resistance. The knob also acts as an emergency brake; you can push it down to immediately stop the flywheel.
The ASUNA 7150 features a 33 lbs (15 kg) aluminum and steel alloy flywheel. This flywheel is slightly lighter than other Sunny Health & Fitness exercise bikes, such as the SF-B901B.
But it can generate a very consistent momentum. It’s also perimeter-weighted, meaning the pedaling motion is smooth and steady.
The flywheel is bi-directional. In other words, the bike allows you to pedal in reverse. When pedaling in reverse, it will retain its tension, though.
Drive
The bike uses a belt drive powered by a heavy-duty belt designed to last for many years of use. This belt drive comes with two main advantages. First, it is quieter than a chain; the bike generates very little noise when in use. And second, it doesn’t require any maintenance.
Since it’s a commercial-grade bike, it comes with a solid crankset with steel crank arms, which can hold the rider’s entire weight without a problem. Also, the pedals supplied with the bike are dual-sided. They feature SPD elements for spin shoes on one side and toe cages with straps on the other.
The bike’s Q-Factor (spacing between the pedals) is 140 mm, a pretty narrow Q-Factor. So naturally, it offers superior biomechanics that improve comfort and optimal efficiency.
Put differently; your feet are naturally positioned on the pedals without extra lateral stress on the ankles or knees. Thus, it results in longer workouts and a lower chance of developing post-workout joint pain.
7150 Assembly and Maintenance
The ASUNA Minotaur exercise bike comes partially assembled. The flywheel, belt, crankset, resistance pad, and covers are already attached to the frame. Therefore, you will only have to connect the two bases, the seat, the handlebars, and the pedals.
Thus, it shouldn’t take longer than 20 min. All the tools required for the assembly come with the bike. Also, the supplied manual offers all the necessary assembly instructions.
Since the bike doesn’t have a chain drive, its transmission requires no maintenance. Therefore, you only have to check for loose bolts and parts and retighten them as needed. Also, if the resistance pads develop a burnt scent due to friction, lubricating them with a little silicone lubricant is an excellent solution.
