SXB1000 Frame Construction
The ShareVgo SXB1000 Semi-Recumbent Bike features an x-type steel tubing frame. It combines cylindrical, oval, and rectangular tubes in its construction. It has two main parts; the most prominent part holds the handlebar, and the fitness monitor consists of two parallel curved bars.
The other part supports the seat and the drive system. The two pieces are connected in the middle and fold the frame for better storage.
The fully assembled bike is not too large. It is approx. 28″ (71 cm) long and 22″ (56 cm) wide, while its highest point is 55″ (140 cm). With the frame folded, the bike’s footprint is reduced to 9″L x 22″W (23 x 56 cm), while its height reaches approx—63″ (160 cm).
Like most other x-frame bikes, the ShareVgo SXB1000 is not too heavy. Its net weight is 45 lbs (20.4 kg). Thus, one person can carry and assemble the bike with no problem. Its front base caps also rotate and act as transport wheels for the easy relocation of the bike. Also, the rear base stabilizer features polygonal caps, which serve as levelers.
All the steel bars in the bike’s construction come coated with a corrosion-resistant grey paint finish, and the drive and resistance mechanism casing is green/black. In addition, the protective panels of the bike’s mechanism are made of durable thermoplastic material.
Seat and handlebars
The ShareVgo SXB1000 semi-recumbent bike has a reasonably large seat, approx. 12″ (30 cm) wide. Its top consists of a thick layer of high-density foam. It contours slightly for improved comfort, while its inner shell is a durable nylon material.
The backrest is approximately 14″ (35 cm) above the seat’s base. It integrates a thick layer of cushioning with a thermoplastic rear cap.
The whole seat assembly is four-way adjustable. In addition, its vertical post has several adjustment positions, while its horizontal slider offers a few extra inches of front-to-back adjustment. Therefore, the bike comfortably accommodates users between 4’11” and 6’0″ (150 – 183 cm). It also has a maximum user weight capacity of up to 250 lbs (113.3 kg).
It’s also important to note that the seat’s backrest does not adjust independently from the seat. Furthermore, it does not recline. Therefore, you cannot change its height and fold forward over the seat pad, like some other X-frame bikes.
The bike comes with two sets of handlebars. One connects to the seat assembly, the other to the upper front section of the frame. The front handlebars integrate metallic pulse sensors, and the fitness monitor can track your pulse if you hold on to them.
The seat handlebars do not have any sensors. As a result, neither one of the handlebars adjust in any way. In addition, they both feature PVC foam sleeves for an improved grip.
SXB1000 Resistance system
The ShareVgo SXB1000 semi-recumbent bike comes equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. This means that the fitness monitor itself cannot automatically adjust the resistance. Furthermore, it also means that you don’t need an adapter or power source for this bike.
The resistance system consists of a magnetic brake that connects to the internal flywheel system and the tension knob at the bike’s front via a steel wire. As you turn this knob, the brake moves closer or farther from the internal flywheel, increasing or decreasing the pedaling difficulty.
The bike offers eight levels of resistance. The first resistance level is relatively light, great for a fitness warm-up, recovery training, or in general, for users with a low fitness level.
Conversely, the 8th tension level delivers considerably more resistance simulating a hill climb. However, as a general idea, the bike does not provide a tremendous pedaling difficulty even when the 8th level is selected.
The main advantage of the magnetic resistance system is that the brake does not touch the flywheel. Thus, there is no friction, and the pedaling motion is seamless. The bike is also very quiet, almost entirely silent, and there’s virtually no wear and tear for the internal magnetic brake.
Drive system
The ShareVgo SXB1000 comes equipped with a belt drive system. It uses a poly-v rubber belt designed for improved traction. Since the drivetrain is belt-based, not chain-based, you don’t have to worry about its periodic lubrication. It also generates less vibration than a chain and contributes to the overall smoothness of the ride.
The weight of the internal flywheel is not specified. However, considering the bike doesn’t weigh more than 45 lbs (20.4 kg), its flywheel probably doesn’t weigh more than 10 lbs (4.5 kg). It is perimeter-weighted, though. This design improves inertia and adds stability to the pedaling motion.
The flywheel is bi-directional. Thus, you can pedal in reverse if you want. However, since this is an exercise bike, not a road bike, when pedaling in reverse, the resistance remains constant, given by the selected tension level. Also, coasting is not possible on the bike.
The bike comes with a durable crankset featuring steel arms. The pedals are made of durable thermoplastic material. They are weighted, so they always self-level when you remove your feet from them. In addition, they have a textured surface and adjustable straps for improved foot stability.
Since this is a semi-recumbent X-bike, it is not for spin workouts. Also, even though the pedals are durable, they’re not for standing up. Even if they can support your weight with no problem, standing up while pedaling can lead to injury or damage to the internal parts of the bike.
SXB1000 Fitness Monitor
The ShareVgo SXB1000 Semi-Recumbent Bike comes equipped with a pretty simple fitness monitor. It features an LCD that tracks time, distance, speed, and pulse. Unfortunately, it does not have built-in programs or goal settings.
It only has one button, which you can press to select the desired workout metric that you want to view. Or, you can select the Scan Mode, which automatically rotates all the metrics showing each one for a few seconds.
Although the fitness monitor does not have pre-set workout programs, it does have Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the ShareVgo Fitness App. In addition, a QR code is included with the bike, which you can scan with your smart device to install the app, and it’s also available at the Apple app store or Google Play store.
This app allows you to track your progress online, indicates calorie consumption, provides pre-set workout goals and challenges, and various ways to keep you motivated. The app is free and available for iOS and Android systems.
The fitness monitor unit is battery-powered, and it requires two AAA batteries. It starts when you pedal and automatically turns off after a few minutes of inactivity on the bike.
The monitor has a small shelf at its base that can hold a phone or tablet. However, the bike also comes with another larger tablet holder that attaches to the front part of the frame.
SXB1000 Assembly and Maintenance
The two main sections of the frame and the drive mechanism come pre-assembled. Therefore, you only have to attach the two base bars, the seat, the backrest, the handlebars, the fitness monitor, the device holder, the bottle holder, and the pedals.
This shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes. All the necessary tools come with the bike, and the manual provides clear step-by-step assembly instructions.
Once assembled, you don’t have to worry too much about maintenance. The internal parts shouldn’t need any lubrication for an extended time. Therefore, you only need to keep the unit clean, periodically check for loose bolts and parts, and retighten as needed.

This semi-recumbent bike seems like a great compromise between the heavy, bulky spin-type bikes and the positional recumbent bikes. It is compact and lightweight at 45 pounds. The bike has a good monitoring system and is blue-tooth compatible. I noted your warning that it is not used for spinning or standing on the pedals. My one question is whether it takes good balance to use the machine. It looks so compact. Thanks for this information. I am impressed and going to look into the ShareVgo SXB1000.
