Sunny SF-T7632 Folding Treadmill | Features a Fixed 6.8 Degree Incline

Stay in stride with the Sunny SF-T7632 Folding Treadmill from Sunny Health and Fitness. The SF-T7632 space-saving treadmill has an ample belt surface to accommodate most joggers and walkers (44.5 x 14 inches). The unique design places the motor under the belt’s front, creating a 6.8 degree fixed incline and a 0.5 – 7.0 mph speed range.

Shock absorption provides less impact force on your legs and joints. The SF-T7632 cushioned belt allows you to work out longer with less fatigue versus running outside on hard asphalt. The easy fold design locks and holds the deck upright, great for saving space in small places.

Tracking your progress on the Sunny SF-T7632 is simple with the fitness console that tracks time, distance, speed, calories, and scan. You will be able to see your results in real-time to keep you motivated and on pace. With a convenient scan mode, you can choose to have these metrics continuously repeated.

Transforming your home into your fitness studio is effortless with the convenient transport wheels. Tilt and roll out for use or away for storage. The wheels at the front of the unit allow the user to move their treadmill around with ease.

SF-T7632 Frame and deck

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7632 is not a heavy-duty treadmill. However, it still features a steel frame with a deck to support users up to 220 lbs (100 kg).

Sunny SF-T7632 Folding Treadmill

All the steel tubes in its construction come coated with a corrosion-resistant paint finish. The color used is gray, with the “Sunny” logo painted red. This is the only color available for this Sunny Health & Fitness treadmill.

Of course, the machine also integrates several ABS parts. The motor cover and casing, the side rail covers, and the console casing are durable ABS material.

The Sunny SF-T7632 features a pretty compact construction as well. With all the parts assembled, it is approx. 49.5″ (126 cm) long, and 26.5″ (67 cm) wide. It is advisable, though, to leave at least 24″ (61 cm) of clearance on each side, and at least 36″ (91 cm) of clearance at the rear of the deck, for safe usage.

The machine is also foldable. The deck folds up between the two upright bars. With the deck folded up, the machine’s footprint becomes 16″D x 26.5″W (41 x 67 cm), while its height becomes approx—51″ (129 cm).

This treadmill is not extremely heavy. Its net weight is 75 lbs (34 kg), so it can be moved and assembled by only one person. Plus, its front base bars feature transport wheels, which considerably ease its relocation.

Walking surface and incline

The Sunny SF-T7632 treadmill offers a walking surface of 44.5″L x 14″W (113 x 36 cm). It’s not very large, so a taller user may not benefit from a complete range of motion when running. But for walking, the machine should accommodate users up to 6’5″ (196 cm) with no problem.

The belt is multi-layered, with the top layer designed to provide a non-slip grip. The rollers’ exact diameter is not specified, but since it’s a small machine, they’re probably less than 1.5″. Nonetheless, the rollers integrate sealed ball bearings for a smooth belt motion. Also, they have a crowned design to promote a longer belt lifespan.

The machine’s deck doesn’t have the thick or adjustable cushioning elements of a commercial-grade treadmill but does integrate four pairs of cushions. They are all concealed by the side rail covers. The more oversized cushions are on each side of the foot strike area to absorb a more considerable amount from the impact generated during each step.

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7632 treadmill features a fixed incline system. This means that its deck is always inclined, and you cannot adjust the incline. The walking platform features a slope of 6.8° or 11.9%.

Considering that the walking platform is always inclined, this machine provides a more consistent workout than a treadmill with a standard (horizontal) walking platform. It continuously simulates an uphill walk or jog.

The machine’s deck doesn’t have a very high step-up height. At its highest point, the walking surface is at approx. 10″ (20 cm) above floor level, while at the rear, its size is approx. 4″ (10 cm). Therefore, you shouldn’t need to worry about ceiling height issues.

SF-T7632 Drive motor

The Sunny SF-T7632 treadmill comes equipped with a light-capacity motor offering a peak power of 1.25 HP. Still, it is powerful enough to support prolonged workouts, even if the user is close to the maximum weight capacity of 220 lbs (100 kg).

Like most other treadmill motors, the one equipped on the Sunny SF-7632 integrates a small flywheel. This element adds stability and reduces belt and overall vibration during usage.

The motor offers a speed range between 0.5 MPH and 7.0 MPH. The console speed adjustment controls are bi-functional. A short press will adjust the belt’s speed in increments of 0.1 MPH, while pressing and holding the key will change the speed in increments of 0.5 MPH. The console does not have quick selection buttons for speed.

The motor itself is not too loud. Also, during a walking workout, you’ll barely hear your cadence.

Nonetheless, depending on your weight, running technique, and other factors, when running at full speed, the noise generated by your cadence will become louder but not loud enough to cover the sound of your TV on a moderate volume setting.

Of course, since this Sunny treadmill doesn’t have a super powerful motor, the power consumption is also minimal. As a general idea, even if you’ll use it daily for more than one hour, your electricity bill should not increase by more than a few dollars.

Console

The Sunny Health & Fitness SF-T7632 includes a pretty basic console without workout programs, Bluetooth, or other fancy features. It has an LCD with a blue LED backlight divided into four subsections to show all the essential workout metrics at once.

It indicates time, distance, speed, and calories burned. Furthermore, it does not have a pulse reading function, and it is not telemetric, so it won’t be able to read your pulse from a Polar or ANT+ HR chest strap.

The console is straightforward to use. It only has five buttons. The Start button sets the belt in motion, while the Stop button allows you to pause your workout if needed.

The Mode button provides access to the setup mode. In setup mode, you can select a workout goal for time, distance, or calories. If a workout goal is set, the console will show the remaining value for that particular workout metric and countdown until you complete your chosen goal.

The Mode button also allows you to select the workout metric you want to view on the top display or set the Scan Mode, which rotates all the top screen metrics, showing each one for a few seconds.

Finally, the Up/Down keys allow you to adjust the belt’s speed or select values for your desired workout goals.

The console doesn’t have bottle trays, a tablet holder, or other features like an integrated sound system. However, it does have a lubrication reminder function. It will notify you to lubricate the belt every 188 miles by displaying an “OIL” icon.

SF-T7632 Assembly and Maintenance

Most of the treadmill comes pre-assembled. The deck with the belt, the rollers, the motor, rail covers, and other parts comes pre-assembled. The two upright bars are also already attached to the base frame. You only have to connect the front base frame extensions with the transport wheels and the console.

This shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes of your time. The task is relatively simple, and the manual provides clear step-by-step instructions. An essential toolkit also comes included with the machine.

For maintenance, it is vital to keep the belt/deck lubricated. A bottle of lubricant comes included, and the console will notify you when lubrication is necessary. It would be best to clean the belt to prevent any debris from being caught in the motor or the rollers. Other than this, you only have to check the machine for loose or broken parts periodically.

  1. Simple and elegant looking for me. Can give me my goal of calorie burning for the day without really thinking of the space it will take from my house.

I see a good purpose of its being easy to set up and relocated. I may want to run every morning near our window for a little sunshine and abundant fresh air. At the same time, my kids may choose to place it on one corner of the house and run in the afternoon.

And I am expecting they will not return it near the window for my next morning exercise.

  2. I truly enjoyed your review of this treadmill.  It has some exciting features, including a 6.8 degree fixed incline and an excellent speed range between 0.5 miles an hour to 7 mph (a jogging speed).

I am an exercise physiologist who performed several thousand exercise studies using treadmills of various sizes and types during my career.  They are used in clinical medicine because they can measure your “fitness,” which is also helpful for training purposes.

Another excellent capability is how it can fold up into a small space, making it easy to take with you if needed.  You can move with you from room to room, or even to other states as it will easily fit in the trunk of a car.  It looks like the treadmill fits into a nice niche between junky box store treadmills and the costly ones as from Peloton, for example.

Thanks for the excellent review and for illustrating the pros and cons.

    Dave.
