T 7.5 S Frame
The NordicTrack T 7.5 S treadmill features a steel frame and a durable deck rated for a user weight capacity of 300 lbs (136 kg). However, the machine also incorporates several ABS parts in its construction. For example, the motors cover, the side rail covers, and the console dashboard are ABS made.
The fully assembled machine is relatively large. It is approx. 78.5″ (200 cm) long and 35.5″ (90 cm) wide, while the top of the console reaches approx. 59″ (150 cm) above floor level. It is also advisable to leave at least two clearance feet on each side of the deck and at least three clearance feet at its rear for safe usage. Therefore, the recommended usage area for it is approx. 120″ x 80″ (305 x 203 cm).
This treadmill is also weighty. Although its net weight is not specified, it weighs over 220 lbs (100 kg). All this weight provides extra stability for the machine. Despite its weight, the T 7.5 S treadmill is not too difficult to move once assembled. Its front metallic base comes equipped with transport wheels.
The NordicTrack T 7.5 S treadmill features a folding design. As a result, the deck can fold up to provide better storage possibilities. The folding mechanism involves a hydraulic cylinder, which slowly lowers the deck when you unfold it to prevent damage.
The NordicTrack T 7.5 S offers a standard running surface of 60″L x 20″W (152.4 x 51 cm). Therefore, the machine should accommodate users up to 6’5″ (196 cm) with no problem, promoting a complete range of motion.
It uses a multi-ply belt with an external rubber layer for a superior grip during running. Also, the internal rollers have a crowned design to provide better traction and increase the belt’s lifespan.
One last aspect to mention here regards the deck’s cushioning system. Like the other NordicTrack T treadmill models, the T 7.5 S comes with the FlexSelect cushioning system.
The deck has six cushioning cells, three on each side, which can absorb up to 40% of each footstrike’s shock during running. Each cushion is adjustable; you can increase or decrease flexibility with a simple rotation.
T 7.5 S Incline and step-up height
The NordicTrack T 7.5 S treadmill comes equipped with an automatic incline system. This means you can adjust the incline as you walk or run on the treadmill. Also, some of the preset programs on the console can automatically adjust the angle.
The machine’s incline mechanism consists of a small lift system and a separate motor from the drive motor placed at the deck’s front. The lift raises or lowers the deck’s front section as the incline adjusts from the console.
There are 12 levels of incline available. The incline increments are 1%, so the incline range is 0% – 12%. In addition, the console features quick incline selection (from 0 to 12) and gradual adjustment.
The step-up deck height is approx—10″ (25 cm). Plus, with the incline set to 12%, its front section elevates by a few extra inches. Therefore, it is advisable to use this machine in a room with a ceiling height exceeding your height by at least 20″ (51 cm).
The NordicTrack T 7.5 S comes equipped with a Drux Commercial Plus motor. It’s a 3.0 CHP motor designed to withstand lengthy workouts without overheating or losing performance. It has a small flywheel for extra motion stability and vibration reduction. It also has a built-in cooling system.
The unit’s motor makes a speed range of 0.5 – 12 MPH available. The incline increments are 0.1 MPH. Therefore, you can easily adjust your pace when you change the speed settings.
The console features gradual speed adjustment and quick speed selection keys, just like the inclines. They’re on the console’s right side; the quick adjustment controls cover all the main speed settings from 1 MPH to 12 MPH.
The motor produces a relatively low level of noise. However, your cadence will still be heard when running at full speed, even with all the deck’s cushioning. Therefore, other people will listen to you in an apartment building or household with thin walls.
Since it’s a motorized treadmill, it requires an external power source. Therefore, the machine comes with a standard US plug (for 120V). The connector for its cable is placed at the deck’s front, next to the power button.
T 7.5 S Console
The NordicTrack T 7.5 S features a 7.5″ diagonal display. It’s an LCD-type display with touchscreen technology and an LED backlight. Thus, you can use it just like any other tablet or multi-function display.
The console keeps track of all the important workout metrics, including time, distance, calories, pulse, speed, and incline. The speed and distance metrics default to imperial units (MPH and miles), but metric units (km/h, km are also available).
The machine has two sensors integrated into its front grips regarding the pulse reading function. However, the console is telemetric as well. This means it can communicate with a wireless HR chest strap. This accessory is optional (not included).
The console has built-in wireless connectivity and is iFit enabled. Therefore, you can connect it to your WiFi to access the iFit workout database or run on a virtual trail based on Google Maps. A 30-day free family iFit membership comes included with the treadmill.
But even if you’re not going to use the iFit workouts and interactive interface, the console has its database of workout programs. It offers 50 preset programs covering all exercises, from interval and HRC-oriented programs to weight loss and muscle toning programs.
Among other notable features are the integrated sound system and the cooling fan. The sound system consists of two prominent speakers on each console’s side. It is compatible with most MP3 players or smartphones and offers Bluetooth connectivity.
The AutoBreeze™ workout fan is at the bottom of the console unit, right above the main keypad. It provides several speed settings and reasonably decent performance to keep you cool during a more intense workout.
T 7.5 S Assembly and Maintenance
The treadmill’s deck comes pre-assembled with the belt, motors, shock absorption system, and other parts. Then, all you have to do is attach the two upright bars and the console. This may take 30-40 minutes, but it’s not a complicated task. The manual provides step-by-step instructions, and a set of necessary tools comes included with the machine.
In terms of maintenance, the unit’s deck requires periodic lubrication. However, it comes pre-lubricated from the factory and doesn’t need lubrication before the first use and for a relatively long while. Keeping the running belt clean is also advisable to prevent any debris or textile fibers from being caught in the motor.
