This pooboo S211 Upright Bike uses a 14-level manual magnetic resistance mechanism. You can adjust the cardio workout intensity by twisting the knob. According to your physical condition, you’ll choose the suitable setting for light to medium-intensity cardio training, muscle toning, stamina development, and weight loss.
This S211 comes equipped with a fitness console that features an LCD that tracks time, speed, distance, total distance, calories, and pulse. Unfortunately, the pulse reading function is grip contact only. Therefore, the console does not read your pulse from a wireless HR chest strap. Instead, place your phone or tablet on the holder to watch videos, making it easier and more fun to stick to your workout.
The pooboo S211 upright bike comes with a wide foam padded seat that is 4-way adjustable (forward/backward and up/down) so that your legs get the proper stride as you pedal and remain comfortable when riding for long periods. In addition, a swivel handlebar allows you to place your hands in a comfortable position while working out.
The pedals on the S211 are sturdy and comfortable. They have adjustable straps that protect you from slipping during a rapid spin, and the pedals suit most shoes. This exercise bike comes equipped with a belt drive system to bring smoother and quieter workouts.

S211 Frame construction
The pooboo S211 upright bike features a construction similar to light-commercial bikes. Its frame is heavy-gauge steel tubing, double-coated with a corrosion-resistant and chip-resistant paint finish.
The base section of the cycle with the drive and resistance elements has two large panels made of durable thermoplastic material for covers. Overall, the bike has quite a sleek, professional-looking design.
Like most other upright exercise bikes, the pooboo S211 is not an extremely large fitness machine. With all the parts assembled, it is approximately 42.9″ (109 cm) long and 23.6″ (60 cm) wide. It is advisable to allow at least two feet of clearance to ease access and safe usage. Its highest point is the top of the handlebars, which reach approx. 55.9″ (142 cm) above floor level.
The bike has a low center of gravity and is relatively heavy as well. Its net weight is approximately 76 lbs (34.4 kg). Thus, it offers excellent stability. Plus, its rear stabilizer comes equipped with two adjustable levelers.
Despite its weight, the bike is straightforward to use once assembled. Its front stabilizer comes with a set of large silicone wheels, which facilitate its relocation.
Seat and handlebars
The pooboo S211 upright bike comes equipped with a four-way adjustable seat. Its upright post features multiple adjustment positions, while its horizontal slider offers several extra inches of front-to-back adjustment.
Both the vertical post and the horizontal slider have large knobs easy to grip and turn, so adjusting the seat to the desired dimensions shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds.
Therefore, the bike comfortability accommodates users between 5’1″ and 6’4″ (155 – 193 cm), allowing a complete leg extension. It also has a maximum user weight capacity of 300 lbs (136 kg) which is not bad for a home-use exercise bike.
The included saddle is relatively large. It is approx. 12.6″ (32 cm) wide, and 11.8″ (30) long, so it provides plenty of contact surface. Its inner shell is a rigid plastic material (probably nylon or polypropylene), while its cover is high-density foam. Its top also comes contoured to provide superior breathability.
The bike’s handlebars are non-adjustable. The whole handlebar assembly attaches to the front upright mast of the bike via screws, so you cannot adjust its angle or height. However, it provides multi-grip possibilities, including a standard grip, a close low grip, a climbing grip, and a racing grip.
The side sections of the handlebar assembly feature PVC foam sleeves to provide better contact and comfort. They also integrate metallic pulse sensors, and the included console has a pulse reading function.
S211 Resistance system
The pooboo S211 exercise bike comes equipped with a manual magnetic resistance system. This means that you don’t need to connect it to an external power source or need an adapter. But on the other hand, the bike cannot automatically adjust the resistance.
The main advantage of a magnetic resistance system is that the tension elements do not touch. Therefore, the pedaling motion is very smooth, continuous, and whisper-quiet. Also, you don’t have to worry about brake wear and tear or replacing brake pads.
The bike’s resistance system features an internal magnetic brake connected to the tension knob on the right side of the front upright mast of the bike via a steel cable. When you turn the knob forward (clockwise), the cable tightens up and pulls the brake closer to the internal flywheel. This increases the pedaling difficulty.
The bike offers 14 levels of resistance. The 1-3 levels deliver a relatively low pedaling difficulty, great for warm-ups or recovery training. Conversely, the 12-14 tension levels provide more resistance, remarkable for stamina development and muscle-building.
Like most other stationary bikes, the pooboo S211 has an internal flywheel. Its exact weight is not specified, but considering that the bike weighs 76 lbs (34.4 kg), the flywheel probably does not exceed 20 lbs (9 kg). It is perimeter-weighted, though. This design improves motion stability and adds consistency to the ride.
The flywheel allows pedaling in reverse. However, coasting is not possible on this bike as it would be on a road bike. Also, when you pedal in reverse, the resistance remains constant, given by the selected tension level.
The bike’s drive system uses a poly-v belt. This type of transmission comes with several advantages. First of all, it delivers less vibration than a chain, so it contributes to the overall smoothness of the ride. And second of all, you don’t need to worry about its lubrication.
The bike comes with a heavy-duty crankset featuring durable steel arms similar to the ones on road bikes. However, standing up while pedaling or performing spin workouts is not advisable.
Furthermore, even if the pedals and the crank arms are solid enough to support your whole weight, it is not advisable to stand on the pedals as this may lead to quicker wear of the pedals and the joint bearings.
Last but not least, the bike comes equipped with a set of standard upright bike pedals. They have a textured surface and adjustable straps for improved foot stability. However, they do not have weight elements always to turn up.
The bike features a large fitness monitor. However, it does not have pre-set programs or Bluetooth connectivity, nor is it compatible with any fitness app. It features an LCD that tracks time, speed, distance, total distance, calories, and pulse.
Unfortunately, it does not have an RPM function. Also, the pulse reading function is grip contact only. The console cannot read your pulse from a wireless HR chest strap.
Although the console does not have pre-set programs, it does have workout target settings for time, distance, and calories burned. Therefore, you can select a goal for these workout metrics. After choosing a goal, the console will count down from the specified value until it reaches zero.
The console is straightforward to use. It has three buttons – Mode, Set, Reset. The Mode button allows you to select the workout metric that you want to view on display.
This way, you can also select the Scan Mode, which rotates all the metrics showing each one for a few seconds. The Set button is for selecting workout targets. And finally, the Reset key clears all the values on the console to zero.
The console is battery-powered. It starts up when it detects pedal movement or when you press one of the buttons. It also automatically turns off if it does not detect any pedal movement for more than several minutes. And finally, the console also has a built-in device holder but does not have any connection ports for your device, such as AUX or USB.
S211 Assembly and Maintenance
The base unit of the bike with all the drive and resistance elements comes pre-assembled. However, the rest of the parts require user assembly. You will have to install the two base stabilizers, the front upright mast, connect the resistance cable, add the handlebar, the console, the seat, and the pedals.
The task is pretty simple, the manual provides clear, step-by-step assembly instructions, and all the necessary tools come with the bike. Thus, the whole process shouldn’t take more than an hour.
The bike’s internal components don’t need any maintenance (at least not for an extended time). Therefore, in terms of care, it’s advisable to wipe off the sweat that may drop on the frame at the end of the workout and periodically check for loose bolts or parts and retighten as necessary.

I am often tempted to get a bike to exercise when it is cold and wet outside. I love the idea that it is upright, and I can put my phone or iPad on the holder to watch YouTubes. Even better, it has a wide and comfortable seat. I’m not too fond of equipment when the seat isn’t comfortable. Interestingly, you can change the resistance and pedal backward (I find this a great workout). This would be a great buy.
Thanks for the great review.

I like that the pooboo S211 upright bike features a construction similar to light-commercial bikes.
