SLFTRD26BT Frame Construction

SereneLife SLFTRD26BT Folding Treadmill

The SereneLife SLFTRD26BT folding treadmill features a steel frame. It combines oval, rectangular, and cylindrical tubes in its construction for improved aesthetics. The base frame of the running platform has a gray paint finish, while the rest of the steel tubes have a black paint finish.

The machine also integrates several plastic parts. For example, the motor cover, the console dashboard, and the side rail covers are durable thermoplastic materials. They’re also black to match the rest of the treadmill.

The SLFTRD26BT is not a heavy fitness machine. Its net weight is only 59.5 lbs (27 kg), so one person can carry and assemble the treadmill. In addition, the front base frame has a set of small wheels, so the machine is easy to move once completed.

In addition, the treadmill is relatively tiny. With all the parts assembled, it is only 50.7″ (129 cm) long and 24.4″ (62 cm) wide. Its highest point is the console’s top, which reaches approximately 46.6″ (118 cm) above the floor level.

Furthermore, the unit is also foldable. Its deck can fold up if you need to save some space. For example, this is also a plus for when you need to vacuum or clean underneath it.

With the deck folded up, the treadmill’s footprint reduces to 21.65″D x 24.4″W (55 x 62 cm), while its height remains roughly the same. The folding mechanism uses a hydraulic cylinder that slowly lowers the deck when you unfold it.

Deck Construction

The SereneLife SLFTRD26BT folding treadmill offers a reasonably small running surface. Its active area is only 39.3″ (100 cm) long and 15.7″ (40 cm) wide. Therefore, it is not advisable for users taller than 6’1″ (185 cm). Also, the deck has a maximum user weight limit of 265 lbs (120 kg) which is not bad for a home-use machine.

The treadmill comes equipped with a multi-layered belt. In addition, its rubber top layer has a textured surface to provide a superior grip for any running shoe. Furthermore, the inner layers add to the shock absorption and noise reduction, while the bottom layer sticks well to the rollers to prevent belt slippage.

Although the deck of the SereneLife SLFTRD26BT does not have significant cushioning elements visible on its sides, like the OMA Fitness 5925CAI treadmill, for example, however, it does integrate several cushioning elements.

These reduce some of the ride’s impacts, resulting in less workout-related joint pain. In addition, the cushions are relatively small and concealed by the side rail covers.

The exact diameter of the internal rollers is not specified. However, since it’s a small treadmill, they’re not as thick as the ones integrated into the decks of commercial treadmills. In addition, they do have a crowned design to provide a prolonged lifespan for the belt. Furthermore, they also have high-grade internal ball bearings for a smooth belt motion.

SLFTRD26BT Incline system

Similar to the SereneLife SLFTRD20 model, the SLFTRD26BT treadmill has a manual incline system. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust the incline from the console. Therefore, to change the incline, you have to pause your workout.

The incline system has a pretty straightforward design. It consists of two adjustable feet attached to the rear part of the deck. Each has four adjustment holes, and you can select the desired angle for each one via a metallic pull-pin.

The incline percentages are not specified, but they are roughly 6.5%, 8%, 10%, and 12%. Furthermore, the machine’s deck is not perfectly horizontal, with the pins inserted into the highest holes. Also, it’s important to note that you must select the same incline position on each rear foot; otherwise, the machine will wobble.

SereneLife SLFTRD26BT Folding Treadmill

Last, the step-up deck height is approximately 6.5″ (17 cm) when the rear incline feet are unfolded (or locked in the highest position). Therefore, to avoid inconveniences, using this treadmill in a room with a ceiling at least 10″ (25 cm) higher than the tallest user’s height is advisable.

Drive motor

The SereneLife SLFTRD26BT folding treadmill is an electric treadmill. Therefore, it requires a connection to an external power source so you can start up the console and adjust the speed of the belt. The machine is voltage 120V / 60 Hz, and a power cord comes with it.

The machine comes with a 1.0 HP motor. It’s not a super-powerful motor as the ones equipped on the commercial-grade treadmills, but it should perform pretty well for the machine’s specs. In addition, it also integrates a small flywheel for superior motion stability.

The unit’s motor offers a speed range between 0.6 MPH and 6.0 MPH. The speed adjustment increments are 0.1 MPH, so you can easily adjust your pace when you increase or decrease the speed. In addition, the console has +/- controls for gradual speed adjustment and preset speed and controls for 3 MPH, 4 MPH, and 5 MPH.

The machine’s motor doesn’t generate too much noise. However, depending on your weight, running shoes, running technique, and other factors, your cadence may create more or less noise.

Also, since the machine has a 1.0 HP motor, its power consumption is approx. 735 Watts per hour. Thus, even if you use it for a few hours daily, it shouldn’t add more than a few dollars to your monthly electricity bill.

SLFTRD26BT Console

The SereneLife SLFTRD26BT folding treadmill features a 3-inch LCD (with LED backlight) that tracks time, speed, distance, calories, and pulse.

SereneLife SLFTRD26BT Folding Treadmill

However, it does not have a step count function. Also, the calorie consumption displayed by the console is constant, regardless of the selected incline. Therefore, this function is not highly accurate.

The console displays the speed and distance in Imperial units (MPH and miles). Unfortunately, you cannot set them to metric units. In addition, the pulse reading function is grip-only. Therefore, the console can only track your pulse if you hold on to the integrated sensors. Unfortunately, it cannot read pulse from a wireless heart rate chest strap.

The console has 12 preset workout programs. Each program has its segment grid engraved on the console, and they have pretty random layouts. For example, none of them has equal intervals. In addition, you can select each program from the Program button. The console also allows setting workout goals for time, distance, and calories.

Furthermore, the console also has Bluetooth connectivity. Therefore, you can sync it with your phone via apps such as Kinomap or Fitshow. With these apps, you can track your progress online and benefit from extra programs and other features like running on a virtual path.

Last but not least, the console has a set of speakers. These also sync with your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. Thus, you can play your music through the console for slightly better sound quality.

SLFTRD26BT Assembly and Maintenance

The machine’s running platform with the belt, rollers, and motor comes pre-assembled. You only need to secure the two upright bars and the console in their positions. Consequently, this shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes of your time. The manual provides clear assembly instructions and all the necessary tools for the treadmill.

For maintenance, the belt requires periodic lubrication (a bottle of lubricant comes with the machine). The manual provides instructions on how and when to lubricate the belt. Besides this, you only have to keep the machine clean, periodically check for loose bolts and parts, and retighten them as required.

  1. Thanks so much for the detailed review of this foldable treadmill. It helped me big time. I was sold on two points that you highlighted. First, it’s lightweight and can be easily stored. Second, I have difficulty hearing, so it does not bother me that the speakers are not the best.

Does the product carry any warranty?

    Thanks for the constructive review.

    Appreciate it.
