Valor Fitness BD-61: Rock-Solid Frame and Built to Last
This machine is rock-solid. The sturdy steel frame is coated with rust-resistant, chip-resistant black paint, and the front upright tubes and weight carriage rods are gleaming chrome. It’s built to withstand your most demanding workouts for years to come.
Don’t worry about sacrificing your whole living room to the BD-61. It’s surprisingly compact, with a footprint of just 56″ x 52″ (142 cm x 132 cm). And with an 81″ (206 cm) height, it fits neatly under your average 7-foot ceiling.
The BD-61 tips the scales at 170 lbs (77 kg), so it’s not going anywhere during your workout. And if you want that extra peace of mind, it comes with hardware to bolt it to the floor.
The BD-61 adapts to you. The handles have five positions, and the pulley braces adjust with a simple pop pin. Plus, the front pillars have 17 holes to place the mobile pulleys exactly where you need them.
Meet the Valor Fitness BD-61: your ultimate home gym powerhouse
This incredible cable crossover machine has features to take your workouts to the next level. With its built-in lat pulldown, you can target your entire upper body like never before.
The BD-61 is all about versatility. It boasts multiple pulleys made with ultra-durable nylon and sealed bearings, ensuring silky-smooth performance every time you exercise. Plus, the generous 90mm diameter and 11mm holes mean you can move freely and focus on your form.
We know you’re tough on your gear, so we built the BD-61 to keep up. The steel rope cables are wrapped in protective PVC sleeves to prevent scratching and extend lifespan. While Valor Fitness doesn’t disclose the exact strength testing, they can handle at least double the machine’s maximum weight capacity.
Stability is vital, and the BD-61 delivers. The base tubes feature rubberized caps for traction, and we’ve included anchoring hardware to secure it to the floor. Plus, the median upright bar has three convenient hooks for your accessories.
Valor Fitness includes a low-row bar, extension chain, two adjustable D-handles, and a standard lat pulldown bar with comfortable curved grips to get you started. If you want to expand your routine, check out our optional tricep rope, triangle chest pull grip, and v-shaped handle.
The BD-61 is ready for your heaviest lifts, with 1″ weight storage and carriage pegs. But we’ve also got you covered if you use Olympic weights – four durable 2″ adapter sleeves are included.
Get Ready for a Full-Body Workout with the BD-61!
The Valor Fitness BD-61 cable crossover machine has four versatile workout stations to hit all your major muscle groups without clunky equipment. With the BD-61, you’ve got an entire gym’s worth of possibilities in one sleek machine. Ditch the crowded gym and get the workout you want from the comfort of your home. Your more muscular, leaner body is just a rep away. Let’s dive in!
Pull-up Station: Get a Grip on Strength
Start with the pull-up station. Two sturdy handles (with comfy PVC foam sleeves) are welded to the top frame. You have options here: grab a wide grip, a standard grip, or a parallel grip. Find what feels best for you and start pulling your way to a powerful back and arms.
Lat Pulldown Station: Target Those Lats
Next, the lat pulldown station is your key to building a strong, defined back. Attach the included pulldown bar to the median pulley between your pull-up grips. Now you’re set for lat pulldowns, tricep presses, and more. Get ready to feel that burn!
Crossover Station: Flexibility Meets Versatility
The crossover station is where things get exciting. Two mobile pulley units attach to the front pillars and swivel 180° to adapt to your planned exercise. Plus, with 17 attachment holes, you can customize your setup in a flash. The possibilities are endless!
Low Pulley Station: Finish Strong
Lastly, the low pulley station lets you wrap up your workout with a bang. Go for low rows, cable curls, leg abductions, or adductions (just grab an ankle cuff). The included short-row bar with an extension chain has got you covered. Your entire lower body will thank you.
Load Capacity and Weight Ratios
The Valor Fitness BD-61 is built to help you achieve your strength training goals. With a maximum load capacity of 200 lbs (90.7 kg), you can challenge yourself as you get stronger. Plus, it’s compatible with both Standard and Olympic weight plates (2″ adapter sleeves included), so you can use the weights you already have or easily upgrade as you progress.
What sets the BD-61 apart is its versatile weight ratios. The top pulley gives you a 1.4 to 1 ratio, so you’ll feel like lifting more than you loaded – perfect for a challenging workout. The crossover pulley has a 0.75 to 1 ratio for a slightly easier but effective exercise. And the low pulley has a robust 1.55 to 1 ratio to push your limits.
Here’s an example of how this works: if you load the machine with 20 lbs (9 kg), you’ll feel the resistance of 28 lbs (12.7 kg) on the top pulley, 15 lbs (6.8 kg) on the crossover pulley, and 31 lbs (14 kg) on the low pulley. That’s the power of the BD-61’s weight ratios!

Getting Your BD-61 Up and Running
Like most home gyms, your new BD-61 from Valor needs some assembly before you can start your fitness journey. Don’t worry – it’s a bit of a project, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. Think of it as a fun Saturday morning DIY adventure!
Here’s a quick overview of the steps:
- Start with the base – get that anchored down securely.
- Next, add the upright pillars. Be sure they’re stable and even.
- Now it’s time for the carriage. Slide it onto its rods and make sure it’s moving smoothly.
- Close everything up with the top section. You’re taking shape!
- Finally, add the pulleys, cables, and all the finishing touches.
Set aside a few hours, and you’ll be all set. Just a heads up – you’ll need some wrenches and a mallet, so dig those out of your toolbox.
Occasionally grease the weight carriage rods to keep your BD-61 in top shape. The pulleys might also appreciate a little lubrication. Remember, a quick weekly inspection will keep everything running safely and smoothly.

Wow! The BD-61 could almost replace the gym or a room full of free weights and exercise equipment. I like that it’s sturdy and doesn’t take up too much space for everything it offers. The only thing that would improve it is if it came with an ankle cuff for leg exercises.
Thanks for sharing this review and giving people like me a great option to consider when making/upgrading our home gym!

As I get older, I have been told by Drs to use pulleys rather than weights. I have also been told not to do bilateral exercises to help a pinched nerve in my neck. This machine seems like it would allow me to do that. Pulleys are much easier on joints than free weights. I have to see where this size machine will fit, although it is not particularly big given all it can do. Thanks for this introduction. I will do a bit more research on the machine and my space.
