The Soozier A91-145 power cage has a lat attachment for standard or Olympic plates. Like other power cages with a lat attachment, the A91-145 has five workout stations (cage, pull-up, high pulley, low pulley, and dip bars). Unfortunately, weight plates and a barbell do not come with the cage.

A91-145 Frame Construction

Soozier A91-145 Power Cage

The Soozier A91-145 features a pretty standard rectangular steel tubing frame. All the steel parts of the structure come coated with a corrosion-resistant and chip-resistant black paint finish. The color used is black. The only exceptions are the safety bars and catchers, which are stainless steel.

The fully assembled cage is not super extensive. It is approximately 61″ (155 cm) long and 46.5″ (118 cm) wide. It is advisable to allow at least three feet of clearance on each side, and at least four feet in the front, for easy access and to execute all exercises without any hindrance.

The unit’s height is approx—86.5″ (220 cm). Thus, the A91-145 won’t fit in a room with a 7-foot ceiling. Also, you should allow at least one foot above the cage so that you can perform all the pull-up exercises correctly.

The four vertical bars of the cage have 26 adjustment positions each for the catch bars and the safety bars. The lowest one is at approx. 20.75″ (53 cm) above the floor, while the highest one is 66″ (170 cm). The diameter of the adjustment holes is 1.96″ (4.97 cm), while the distance between them is 2″ (5.08 cm).

The unit is pretty heavy as well. It weighs approximately 200 lbs (90.7 kg) with all the parts assembled. Therefore, it provides plenty of stability, so you won’t have to anchor it to the floor. Its base bars do not have pre-drilled holes for this purpose, but they have plastic caps and rubber pads for extra protection and stability.

Workout stations

Like any power cage with a lat attachment, the Soozier A91-145 has five workout stations. These are:

Main cage. The cage allows you to perform squats, curls, shrugs, or other exercises while safely using a heavy barbell. A barbell and weight plates do not come with the cage. Furthermore, it is for use with 7-foot Olympic barbells.

Pull-up station. The Soozier A91-145 features a multi-grip pull-up station that attaches to the top rear bar of the frame. It offers the possibility to perform all kinds of pull-up and chin-up exercises with wide, close, and parallel grips. In addition, its side grips have PVC foam sleeves for improved contact.

High-pulley station. It’s the primary workout station for the lat machine. It offers the possibility to perform lat pulldowns, tricep press-downs, and many other high-pulley cable exercises. A lat bar comes with the set. It is approx. 38″ (96.5 cm) wide and has curved grips with PVC sleeves.

Low-pulley station. The machine’s low pulley can execute seated rows, standing rows, stand-up curls, or other low-pulley exercises. The cage comes with a short bar and a small extension chain for the low pulley. It is approx. 16″ (40 cm) long and also has rubberized grips. Unfortunately, an ankle cuff for kickbacks does not come with the cage.

Dip station. The unit’s dip station consists of two dip bars that you can attach to the vertical pillars of the cage. They are approx. 14″ (35.5 cm) long and have rubberized grips for improved contact.

A91-145 Weight Limits

The Soozier A91-145 power cage has a maximum load limit of 800 lbs (363 kg), which applies to both the catch and safety bars. Although some power cages have higher weight loads, this is not bad for a home-use model.

The weight load limit of the lat carriage is not specified. However, the cables should support at least 500 lbs (226 kg). The pegs of the lat carriage accommodate standard 1″ weight plates, but they come with Olympic adapters, so you can also load them with 2″ plates. Two sets of spring clips come with the cage.

The maximum user weight capacity for the pull-up bar and the dip handles is 330 lbs (150 kg). Therefore, you can perform weighted dips or pull-ups without any issue if you are below this weight.

Please note that the barbells and weight plates pictured do not come with the cage.

A91-145 Assembly and Maintenance

The Soozier A91-145 power cage requires complete user assembly. You will have to put together the unit’s base, add the pillars, close the cage with the top bars, and add the lat attachment and the other accessories.

Consequently, the task is not too complicated but may take several hours of your time. The manual provides pretty clear assembly instructions. Unfortunately, tools for assembly do not come with the cage.

For maintenance, you only have to clean the cage, wipe the sweat that may fall on the frame at the end of the workout, and periodically check for loose bolts and parts and retighten them as needed. The pulleys of the lat attachment may also require some lubrication from time to time.

  1. A comprehensive review, thanks! Buying one of these power cages will save me so much time and money because most of my gym time is spent traveling to the gym and back, and if I have a cage at home, I won’t need to pay for a gym membership either. Also, I can do all the exercises on this cage that I do at the gym, so I’m looking forward to taking my workouts to the next level as I’ll be able to train more often at home.

  2. Thank you for the concise and succinct review. I found this article very informative and helpful. I love how one machine offers you the ability to do several different exercises. I noticed on the review that the bench press is not included. Is there one that you would recommend?

Also, the power cage looks quite big, is there an alternative cage that you would recommend that would take up less space?

    Thank you
