The HARISON W4 Water Rowing Machine features a high-quality solid aluminum flywheel and aluminum slide rail, making the workout smooth and quiet. Furthermore, the steel-made frame and 12-inch wide seat provide a maximum user weight limit of 300 pounds (136 kg). Convenient transport wheels allow for easy relocation after you’ve completed working out.
The W4 has 16 durable fan blades that resist rust and withstand the most challenging, vigorous exercise. Water creates a smooth and steady rowing experience with every stroke. For instance, the faster the fan blades spin, the higher resistance and dynamic response will give the user a unique experience.
The HARISON W4 water rowing machine features a fitness monitor to track time, calories, strokes, SPM, and distance which helps you monitor your exercise progress and achieve your fitness goal. In addition, the tablet/iPad holder can make your rowing workout more fun—interactive personal training at home powered by a free FitShow App for iOS and Android devices.

W4 Frame Construction
The HARISON W4 water rowing machine features a steel tubing frame. Most of the tubes in its construction are oval; the only exception is the rectangular sliding rail. All the steel parts in its construction come double-coated with a corrosion-resistant black paint finish.
The rower is not super large in comparison with other models. However, it still takes approx—80.1″L x 20.3″W (203 x 52 cm) of floor space. Therefore, allowing at least two feet of clearance on each side and at the rear of the unit is advisable for safe usage and easy access.
The unit’s rail is relatively long. This rower’s maximum applicable user inseam length is 34″ (86 cm). Therefore, it comfortably accommodates users up to 6’4″ (193 cm), allowing a complete range of motion. Also, the rail is pretty sturdy, having a maximum user weight limit of 300 lbs (136 kg).
The rower is not foldable, but it can store vertically. The front section of the frame guards the water-resistance tank and comes with a foot stabilizer that supports the machine when it is stored vertically. As a result, the water can remain in the tank when the rower is upright.
The rower is not super heavy, weighing approximately 84 lbs (38 kg) without water. Therefore, two people should carry and assemble the rower. However, once completed, one person can move the rower. Its front base has a set of wheels, while its rear stabilizer comes equipped with adjustable levelers.
Seat and other parts
The HARISON W4 water rowing machine features a pretty standard seat. It is approximately 12″ (30 cm) wide, providing plenty of contact surface. Furthermore, its top is high-density foam and has contours for extra comfort. Its highest point is approximately 16″ (40 cm) above the floor level, and the machine allows easy entry and exit.
In addition, the seat also has a pull pin that allows you to lock it on the rail to perform standard seated rows, tricep curls, or other exercises.
The seat’s base is steel-made, with three sets of wheels. Two sets roll on top of the sliding rail, while the third closes the seat frame on the rail. The wheels come equipped with ball bearings for smooth seat motion. They also have an outer rubber layer for reduced noise.
The HARISON W4 rowing machine comes equipped with a set of oversized footrests. They’re approximately 12″ (30 cm) long and are a rigid ABS polymer. In addition, they have a textured surface, adjustable straps, and heel guards for improved foot stability.
For example, the machine’s footrests, such as the MBH Fitness rower, are not size-adjustable. However, their pivoting design allows them to tilt forward or backward to adapt better to your position throughout each rowing motion. In addition, they have stoppers at the heel, which prevent them from leaning back past an angle of approximately 50°.
The pulling handle is a simple, straight bar with a chrome finish and oval grips. It has PVC foam sleeves for an improved grip, and it’s attached to the machine’s resistance system via a heavy-duty nylon strap, highly resistant to stretching and abrasion. Unfortunately, it does not have any controls or HR pulse sensors.
W4 Resistance system
The HARISON W4 water rowing machine comes equipped with a water resistance system. Therefore, it integrates a large, durable polycarbonate water tank. In addition, the capacity of the tank is approximately 4.5 gallons (17 liters).
It has a simple, single-chamber construction without any water level adjustment mechanism. However, you can manually add or remove water from the tank to change the resistance.
The main resistance-generating element is the 16-blade flywheel integrated into the water tank and attached to its pulley system. When you pull the handle, the flywheel spins into the water inside the tank and generates resistance.
As mentioned above, the water tank has no mechanical or automatic water adjustment system. Furthermore, it also does not have any additional magnetic resistance. However, it has several markings and shouldn’t fill past the maximum specified water level.
Like all other water-resistance rowers, the HARISON W4 offers a dynamic response during usage. For instance, the resistance is still variable even though the water tank has no integrated adjustment system. It depends on how fast you pull the handle, like rowing a boat through the water.
Similar to other water-resistance rowers, the HARISON W4 creates sound when it is in use. However, it is not extremely loud and shouldn’t cover the sound of a TV set on a low volume. Furthermore, it’s also quite appealing compared to the sound generated by certain air-resistance rowers.
The HARISON W4 water rowing machine has a fitness monitor, device holder, and long, angle-adjustable arm. Unfortunately, it does not have preset workout programs. However, it does have Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the FitShow app. This free app tracks your progress online and has some other features.
The monitor features an LCD that tracks time, distance, stroke count, total strokes, and calories burned. In addition, the distance is displayed in Imperial miles. Unfortunately, the monitor does not have an HR pulse reading function. Therefore, you cannot sync it with a fitness smartwatch or a wireless HR chest strap. Hence, you must use a separate device to track your pulse.
The fitness monitor has three buttons: Mode, Set, and Reset. The Mode button allows you to scroll through the workout metrics and select the one you want to view on display. In addition, it also sets the Scan Mode; in Scan Mode, the display will put all the workout metrics in a sequence, showing each one for a few seconds.
The Set button allows you to select time, count, or calories goals. After choosing a goal, the monitor will count down from the specified value until it reaches zero. And finally, the Reset button clears all the values on the monitor to zero.
The fitness monitor is battery-powered, requiring two AAA batteries. In addition, it starts up when you press the Mode button or when you begin rowing. It also turns off automatically to save the battery if it does not detect any activity on the rower for several minutes.
W4 Assembly and Maintenance
The front unit of the rower, with the water tank, drive elements, and footrests, comes pre-assembled. You only need to attach the seat and the rear stabilizer to the rail, connect the rail to the front unit and add the monitor mount and the fitness monitor.
Consequently, it shouldn’t take more than 30-40 minutes. The manual offers clear assembly instructions, and all the necessary tools for assembly come with the rower.
For maintenance, it is advisable to treat the water in the tank with the included chlorine pills or change it periodically. In addition, you should clean the rail to prevent any damage to the seat wheels. It is also advisable to regularly inspect the machine to ensure that all the moving parts still function correctly and all the fixed parts hold tight in their places.
